The Bedford Academy Chess Club is place for all student to come learn and enjoy the game of chess.

The chess team meets in room 206 from 3:30 to 4:30 on Mondays and Wednesday

In the chess club students will practice and learn chess in preparations for tournaments and to enhance their own skills. Every student helps one another building teamwork in the pursuit of success.

Chess club has many benefits for students. According to Big Think  "It teaches how to make decisions, trains memory, strengthens will power, motivates children to win and teaches them how to deal with defeat. It’s the only school subject that can do all this.' That is a very interesting insight. Not only does chess help train the brain, but it also teaches children basic life skills."

Students in the club must maintain an 80% or higher average.
