Adofo Muhammad, Principal

Dr. Cluny Lavache, Asst. Principal

Welcome to Bedford Academy's 2020 Summer Bridge Program. This year's Summer Bridge Program will be new, exciting and unlike any Summer Bridge Program that has taken place before. This year due to COVID-19 we are unable to enter into the building or on the campus of Long Island University. We must engage in the virtual world of learning and building relationships that will take place over the next four years and beyond. The Summer Bridge courses and interaction is designed to have all scholars understand the need to have a sense of urgency, understand the demands and expectations of Bedford Academy and most importantly get to know the scholars. There will be several courses that we will engage in this Summer:

  • Algebra/Algebra II Trigonometry
  • Media Studies/Black Studies through a Literary Lens
  • Long Island University classes that include Career Development,  Entrepreneurship  and Sustainable Energy Workshops

Our program will operate on Monday'sTuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning Tuesday, July 7 to Thursday, July 30. Classes will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m.

On Monday, July 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. I would like to meet with all scholars who will be attending the Summer Bridge Program. You can log on to the following Google Meet https://meet.google.com/xck-gesi-pug

During the meeting, the scholars will be directed to fill out a Google form that will provide the scholars with their individual Bedford Academy e-mails.
